This session took place somewhere especially meaningful: their personal home, set on a garden-style estate overlooking the landscape around Polo Hill Farm. Being invited into a family’s own space—where real life happens—is always an honor, and it’s one of our favorite ways to photograph families.
This is a family I truly adore, and spending a summer evening with them and their three daughters, just enjoying their home and the land around it, felt effortless in the best way.
Photographing Families at Home
There’s something different about photographing a family at their own home. Kids are relaxed. Parents don’t feel rushed. Everyone moves a little more naturally because they’re exactly where they’re supposed to be.
This evening unfolded slowly:
The girls wandering through the gardens and lawn
Parents watching, laughing, and soaking it all in
Warm summer light settling in as the day cooled
Nothing was staged. Nothing was forced. It felt less like a photo session and more like documenting a moment in time.
