Golden Hour Magic with Agnes and Joe in Long Island City
Golden Hour Magic with Agnes & Joe in Long Island City
We recently had the chance to photograph Agnes and Joe for their engagement session, and we’re still smiling about it. These two have an easy, natural connection that made the entire shoot feel effortless—and photographing them during golden hour in Long Island City? Total win.
We started off near Gantry Plaza State Park, where the Manhattan skyline gives the perfect backdrop without trying too hard. The light was doing that thing it does—warm, soft, and golden—and Agnes and Joe made the most of it. They weren’t overly posed or stiff. Instead, they brought their own energy: a mix of laid-back and playful, with the occasional burst of laughter (usually thanks to Joe’s low-key humor).
What stood out most was how much fun they were having together. They’d break into little dances, sneak quick kisses, and every once in a while, completely forget we were even there—exactly what we love to see during engagement sessions. It’s in those in-between moments where the best photos live.
Long Island City gave us plenty to work with, from the industrial textures of the waterfront to the calm of the East River reflecting the evening sun. We wrapped up just as the sun dipped behind the skyline, giving us that last hit of golden light—a perfect end to a really good shoot.
Now, we’re counting down the days to Agnes and Joe’s wedding. If their engagement session is any hint at what’s to come, it’s going to be full of great energy, easy moments, and genuine love. We’re so excited to be the ones capturing it all.
Stay tuned—we’ll be sharing more from their big day soon.
